Now in cover, lord happily turned to face his vix. But, all he saw was air. Cyclone! He called out. Oh god... Terrified, he backtracked. Orbs frantically pinballed, searching as far as he could see. For what seemed like hours, Dissolve searched and screamed her name. Over and over, sobbing now, he called for her. How could he have been so stupid? He had promised to protect her and he went and abandoned her. He couldn't have been more of an idiot! Finally, ahead, he saw her unmistakable Friesian form. Nearly collapsing with exhaustion and glee he raced to her. Talons skidded in the wet earth as he tried to stop. Barely keeping from ramming into her, nape wrapped protectively around the bruja. Oh god...oh god...oh god... Dissolve gasped over and over. For several moments he reapeated the phrase, an "I'm So Sorry" slipping in every couple words.

Cyclone struggled not to laugh. I'm fine. Can we just get out of here? She hated to think it was, but it was slightly amusing, and really sweet too. She looked at him, almost scoldingly. But there was also a hint of sarcasim in her voice when she said, This time don't get to far ahead. It's difficult enough to see as it is. She laughed slightly. Showing that she was joking, and nudged him a bit. She looked around, then back at him, begging him to continue on.

Dissolve was still angry at himself for leaving behind his mare. He nodded slightly in response. Stilts carried him sowly across the terr, looking back often to make sure she was still alright and with him. Lightning lit their way, flashing almost continuously. Thunder rumbled nonstop across the sky, creating a grateful inability to be heard. Painted stag cursed him self softly for what he had done. Minutes passed by, and the overhang was in sight. We're almost there. He assured his belle.

She smiled as she followed behind him, matching his pace. She could sense his anger at himself. I'm alright. She said quietly. She was! I know you didn't mean too. It was my fault for not asking you to slow down, or keeping up with you or anything...and it's that fire's fault for taking my eyes from me. She lowered her head, and she didn't want to look at the blur of white in front of her. It just made her mad that she couldn't see. Her eyesight was slowing them down and she knew it. They could have been there a while before if she'd been able to see like other horses.

Oh no you don't. He stopped short and turned to face her. This is not your fault and you know it. I knew you were having a hard time seeing, and I carelessly ditched you. I left you to fend for yourself when I d*mn well knew you couldn't. Dissolve took a breath. And I sort of thank that fire for taking some of your vision. Shocked at what he had just said, brute struggled to explain. I mean...if it hadn't, you would be like all the other horses. I may have never found you...and I love everything about you, including that. I think it makes you all the more unique...and...well...pretty. He looked down, embarrassed. It was out. He loved her, and now she knew. Now to see how she reacted.

(AAWWWW!!!! *grins*)
Cyclone raised her head...and gave her foot a stamp. I can too fend for myself!...just...not at night. She smiled, then looked at him with curiosity. You, You really think I'm beautiful? Even with all the scars? And-and, well... She didn't really know what to say, the truth was, that she was kind of starting to love him too. She smiled at him, still not quite believing what she had heard. Lighting struck above them, and for a split second she could see him, or rather, the blur of colors that was him. She reached out and nudged him gently.

Hessian returned the carress. He was no longer afraid of the storm...just the opposite. He welcomed the flashes of lightning that would light up her dial for a split second, looking so tenderly at him. A small laugh escaped him. We all know you can't defend yourself at night. He joked. And, milove, the scars add to your beauty. He whispered truthfully. The pattern they created on her coat was nothing short of stunning, and beautiful. They wove across her coat, the remainders of the flames that had done so before. But...if it hadn't been for those flames, he may never have met her. He couldn't be more thankful for something so destructive and terrible.

She smiled, Oh contrair my friend. I can defend my self just as well as anyone, I do have ears you know. She said playfully. She smiled at what he had said of her beauty. It sounded like something Sage would have said. She looked up at the sky as the rain fell. Um. I hate to break the moment, but um, can we please get out of the storm now?? It sounds like it's only comming closer... Sure enough, the thunder wasn't leaving, if anything, it was getting louder, and longer too. Lightining struck the ground about a mile away, but they felt the vibration.... Yeah. Deffinetly time to go. We are going to have to run...but I'll need help.

Dissolve laughed, turning orbs to the sky. I think...you are right. Yet again. He grumbled playfully. Come on. It's this way. He half reared, as if preparing for the world's fastest sprint. But instead, when pistons touched the earth, he went at a steady trot. Tell me when I start going too fast! He yelled behind him, and slowly quickened his pace. About twenty seconds passed, and he went a wee bit faster. Keeping the pace, auds were turned backwards, listening for any lyrics from his fae.

She smiled, and nodded and watched as he went. She quickly caught up, and matched his pace, and stayed just behind him. I can go as fast as you can, just, if we come to a log, or rock or something, let me know so I can jump or avoid it...or a hole, especially holes. She stayed directly behind him. Everystep he took she copied. She kept her ears trained on him to "see" what moves he made and where he went. The rain started to rain harder, and she thought she felt a few pieces of hail, but she couldn't be sure. Um...pick up the pace a bit. She said, more out of fear of the hail than rain or storm.

A small bit of ice riquochetted off of Dissolve's head. Wait...ice? But...it was summer. Dissolve had never seen it ice in summer. Of course, he hadn't seen a lot of things, like snow. Only recently had he been exposed to snow. Quite a strange concotion it was. Okay! He agreed, shouting to be heard. Stag eased into a canter, keeping a watchful eye out for debris of any kind. As they moved, more and more chunks of ice dotted the ground, slowly but steadily creating a new groundcover. Almost out of nowhere, a branch appeared on the path. Branch! He warned. A few paces later he leaped over the wood, then stopped and waited to make sure Cyclone made it. He flinched as ice pelted his carcass. The balls were growing bigger, and more painful. What the crap? He muttered.

She nodded, and lighting lit the earth just as he flew, so she knew where to jump. She heard him mumble, and decided she should explain. Hail. When not in winter, usually accompanied by a storm much worse than this. She jumped as a rather large piece hit her, then saw the white and dark blur in front of her. What are you waiting for! Keep moving! We REALLY don't have time to lose! Lightining flashed again, but this time, all she could see was the blur before her. How much farther?

Strong gale weaved between the two, pushing against them. Matching the resistance, stag pushed his body. Quickly he rose in a canter again, making sure bruja was behind him. I can see it! He called to her. Not another ten seconds ahead! Ten seconds, when you think about it, is a long time. Dissolve prayed they had that much time. Seeing no debris blocking their path, he opened up. Stilts pounded against the ground harshly, lifting his hide in temporary flight. Continuously he looked behind him. Satisified that the belle was keeping up, he evened his pace. As his dial was turning back, front right piston took a misstep. A sickening crack resounded through his brain and body, but he continued on. As long as it wasn't broken, he could run. He had to. As promised, the pair dove into the alcove. Breathing heavily, stag sunk to the ground. Crown turned downward, inspecting injured talon. Ankle was swollen considerably, and heat radiated from the injury, but it was definitely not life threatening. He would be okay, he convinced himself.

She smiled, and matched his pace, running, almost passing him, lightining struck, and she saw the dark holish figure infront of them. She heard the sound he made when it happened, she turned her head, and prepaired to stop, but she saw he was still moving, so she continued. When they were safely inside, she tried to calm her breathing, and reached down to nudge him. Are you alright? She moved her head down to his leg, then back to his head. She lifted her head so that she could see him better. She looked at him impatiently as she awaited for the answer.

Teeth clenched, stag merely nodded. I'm fine. He insisted. He hated lying to her, but it wasn't fully a lie. Merely a sprain, nothing more. Give it a day and he would be in top condition again. Are you alright? It looks like you have quite a bump on your shoulder from that hail. In truth, they were both covered in bumps from the impacts. But that one bump was rather large and looked the worst. It probably stung. Brute regained a standing position, keeping little weight on the injured foot but standing on it nonetheless.
